No Hero Without Fight - Project Purpose

Project Overview:

No Hero Without Fight is a virtual reality game developed as part of the Gepetto project for the Epitech Master 2 program. The game was created by Zak, Julie, and Thimoté, with the primary objective of demonstrating our skills in game development, virtual reality integration, and interactive storytelling.

Purpose of the Project:

1. Skill Development:

- To enhance our technical expertise in VR game development, including 3D modeling, programming, and user interface design.

- To apply advanced game mechanics and physics simulations within a VR environment.

2. Team Collaboration:

- To work effectively as a team, utilizing agile development methodologies to manage tasks, track progress, and meet project deadlines.

- To collaborate across different disciplines, including design, development, and testing.

3. Creative Expression:

- To create an engaging and immersive game narrative that captivates players and offers a unique gaming experience.

- To explore and experiment with various VR technologies to push the boundaries of what is possible in virtual reality gaming.

4. Feedback and Iteration:

- To release an alpha version of the game, gather user feedback, and iterate on the design and functionality to improve the overall player experience.

- To understand and address the challenges of developing for VR platforms, including hardware limitations and user comfort.

Project Challenges:

- Asset Limitation: We were only allowed to use a single asset for the entire game and were not permitted to modify it using Blender or any other 3D modeling software.

- Time Constraint: The entire gameplay experience had to be designed to last a maximum of 10 minutes, ensuring that it was concise yet engaging.

Conclusion:

The development of No Hero Without Fight has been a comprehensive learning experience, allowing us to apply our academic knowledge in a practical, real-world project. Through this project, we aim to demonstrate our capabilities as future game developers and our commitment to creating innovative and engaging virtual reality experiences. The unique challenges we faced helped us to think creatively and efficiently, further honing our problem-solving and development skills.
